| During June 2000 one of the best-known horror classics of the 60s has been scanned and digitally restored at ALPHA-OMEGA: JACK THE RIPPER starring Klaus Kinski as the evil doctor leading a double-life as serial killer. |
| For world-wide DVD-release the uncensored original negative has been scanned using wet-gate technology. Second there had to be a scene-by-scene tape based color correction to gain this typical spooky London fog scenario for the DVD product so it would really represent this classic in best manor. Finally torn pictures and ugly image defects were digitally repaired in manual retouch. |
| Besides two very short scenes in a dialogue that were worst possible duplicate negative and had been cut into the original negative, the whole film now should have a look and picture quality on DVD that can compete with an optimum quality of a premiere film print.
